Leg elevation is a great way to put gravity to work for you. If you can elevate your feet above your heart then you can empty the stagnant interstitial fluid and stagnant venous blood, and lymphatic fluid which has accumulated in your legs during the day.This will relieve pain and swelling. My patients benefit from elevating 2-3 times a day for 20-30 minutes and from sleeping with their legs elevated at night.
