Legal Pipeline Intern - 2 internships available Desired Background: Law Student or Student Interested in Diversity Initiatives Approximate Hours per Week: 10-20 The NBA sponsors a number of pipeline programs which are designed to develop the interests and talents of minority students (pre-college level) so that they will consider careers in the field of law. These programs include the nationally recognized and award winning Crump Law Camp—a ten day summer residential experience held on the campus of Howard University. The competition for admission is nationwide. The Pipeline Intern will be engaged in supporting all aspects of planning (logistics, recruitment, marketing and funding) for the Crump Law Camp and/or other NBA youth initiatives. Finance Intern - 2 internships available Desired Background: MBA Candidate or Student with Solid Finance and Accounting Training Approximate Hours per Week: 10-20 This position will afford an excellent opportunity for a student to have hands-on operations experience in support of activities relating to cash management, cash flow, bank reconciliation, payroll processing and preparation of financial statements. Information Technology Intern for Membership - 2 internships available Desired Background: Student majoring in an information technology discipline or demonstrated proficiency in related fields. Must have excellent people skills. Approximate Hours per Week: 10-20 The NBA is the process of converting to a new association management system (iMIS) which includes a membership enrollment, payment and tracking module. The Information Technology Intern for Membership will assist in the system conversion by assisting in the transfer of existing membership records (both manual and automated) to the new system; ensuring the accuracy of new data entries; troubleshooting membership inquiries; and generating reports to track membership performance. Digital Communications/Marketing Intern - 2 internships available Desired Background: Student majoring in public relations, communications, marketing or related field. Must be proficient in social media, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft office and have strong interpersonal skills. Approximate Hours per Week: 10-20 The Communications/Marketing Intern will support the NBA’s strategic communications, marketing, and branding efforts nationwide. The Intern will help produce/oversee the web, social media, online store and other digital communications that will engage clients, volunteers, donors, community partners, board members, and staff. Duties may include: (1) creating content, writing and editing web pages, photographs, video, blogs, and other content; (2) writing and proofing copy for multiple destinations and platforms (including e-newsletters, articles and social media posts); (3) researching, collecting, and analyzing data on the performance of the NBA’s various online and digital efforts; (4) coordinating media file assets including photos, videos and PDF’s; and (5) assisting in the development and execution of the NBA’s social media strategies, direct mail and various promotional and collateral materials.
