Lent isnt about giving something up. Its about reflecting - remembering that Jesus died a brutal death on the cross for ALL of our sins - for us - because he LOVES us that much. Lent is about looking at our own lives and making changes in order to become better people - better Christians!! What good does it do to give up beer if we look forward to getting stinkin drunk on Easter? Or give up FB if we are still gossiping about people? Etc., etc. I, myself, need to get back to church on Sunday. I need to read my Bible every day. I need to work on forgiveness. I need to be more compassionate to my family, friends, and colleagues. I need to be a more positive role model to the children in my school. I need to love hard & unconditionally. I need to live my life with a spirit of gratitude toward my Lord & Savior - every day, good or bad. I want to challenge all of you to think about what YOU need to DO this Easter season - even if youre not Catholic!!! Leave your mark - a positive one - in this world!!!
