Leo- Paco and Norman-Nitro update.....Leo Paco . We are treating his skin condition with antibiotics, good food and advantage multi plus special purple baths. He already has lots of new little baby hairs sprouting up every where. When his skin heals a bit more he will be going to a rescue in Missouri where they will continue with his vetting and care and get him ready for eventual adoption. He loves to give kisses by the way and Is an absolute dream to take care of. Norman nitro is with forgotten dogs of fifth and is staying here. He had a vet visit today to address some other issues besides his obvious skin condition. We have already began treaymebt for his mange and skin infections and there is already improvement. We tested light heartworm positive. So we will start slow kill on him for him. Dr hennessey said front leg is broken in two spots. Wrist and elbow it is an old injury and has healed. He personally would leave it as is. His back leg he will reassess in a couple weeks after he gets some weight on and skin heals but felt not an emergency worth risking anesthesia or any further invasive treatment at this time I have anti inflammatory and pain meds for him for that. He had a bit of eye infections possible entropia but cant assess that either till skin heals but I have eye ointment for infection for now. And his lower lip has been ripped away at some point but has also healed on its own. He is only estimated to be 3 or 4 years old. His teeth are wore in the front from chewing himself but back ones look great. ..oh and lesions on skin re probably bacterial and should get better as skin heals. The vet said one of the worst cases he has seen but immediately recognized his awesome personality. He is the sweetest thing ever! So gentle and old soul. BOTH of these babies are precious beyond words. They are playing with one another when outside but equally enjoy their soft beds and kennels inside. They have healthy appetites to boot and are being fed twice a day a mixture of canned and dry with lists of extra goodies for skin and coat. I am super honored to be part of their journey and be able to care for them and give them love.
