However, both clubs have a firm desire to get the deal done and Di Maria has already said his goodbyes at the Bernabeu. Arsenal are keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus. The Mirror says manager Arsene Wenger had a spy at Bayer Leverkusen’s win at Borussia Dortmund where Reus played. Reus was on Arsenal’s radar earlier in the summer but Wenger’s priority is now a defensive midfielder and centre half. Mario Balotelli is expected at Manchester City tonight to see his new Liverpool teammates in action. The Mirror says Balotelli, 24, is flying back to Merseyside tomorrow to complete his £16million move from AC Milan, and will be cheering them on at the Etihad. The Italy striker may also meet his new team-mates for the first time before kick-off in their hotel. Liverpool expect Balotelli to sign a three-year contract, worth around £85,000-a-week, today at their Melwood training centre. Juventus are starting to lose patience in the race to sign Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski and are instead stepping up their efforts to sign Bayern Munichs Xherdan Shaqiri, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport. The Serie A giants are keen on signing Podolski on loan with a view to a permanent deal but have identified Shaqiri as another potential target if they cannot seal a deal for the Arsenal man. #visso
