Let God fill your heart like only He can. “To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:19 (NKJV) When we lose a loved one or when we experience a break up, it can hurt and can leave a terrible void. When we are rejected or abused, it can leave a big gaping hole in our heart the size of the Grand Canyon. Any disappointment, failure or unmet expectation can potentially cause a void. How does God respond? What does He do when we are hurting from these deep wounds? He motions us to draw near to Him so He can fill every void, fill every valley within us, every lacking place and satisfy our soul completely with Himself. Before we turn our attention to anyone or anything else that cannot satisfy; He wants to fill the void because only He can. In His presence there’s fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures evermore (Psalms 16:11). He wants to fill up our hearts in His presence and minister to every hurting place that’s lacking His love. But how do you get to God’s presence? Well, how do you get to the gas station? You get in the car and you go there. The enemy wants to complicate the matter and make it seem like it’s hard. But it’s not hard. You get to God’s presence by going to Him in prayer. You get to Him by going to His Word. And if there’s unconfessed sin in your life, you repent and go to Him anyway. Let nothing stop you from going to your heavenly Father. Go to Him, pour out your heart before Him and let Him fill you up with His love, fill you up with His peace and joy, fill you up with knowledge of His will, fill you up with His Holy Spirit, and with everything He is. Let Him fill your heart like only He can so you can be whole and complete. Prayer: Father God, I come to You. No, I run to You. I am so desperate for You to fill me. Forgive me for looking in any other place for what only You can do. Every place in me that’s hurting and lacking, fill it God! I pour out my heart before You and I ask that You fill me up with Your Holy Spirit, fill me up with Your love, fill me with knowledge of Your will and give me spiritual understanding.
