Let me begin my tale with a cautionary advisement. Few will - TopicsExpress

Let me begin my tale with a cautionary advisement. Few will believe the narrative that follows, and with good reason. Mankind has always found the fantastical difficult to swallow. It is much easier, much more comfortable to deny the existence of monsters. To admit their existence is to admit that things exist which deny scientific explanation. To admit that these creatures exist is to deconstruct the accepted teachings of the rational, to say that our trusted men of learning are either mistaken, misinformed or liars. Humanity craves the rational explanation, the codified, the denial of true evil. It is simpler to believe the educated authorities. To believe their wisdom and go to bed each night safe in the knowledge that we are safe in the studied minds of professional men of letters. These men of letters continue to assure us that there are no monsters, no truly evil creatures stalking the innocent for the sheer pleasure of inflicting pain and fear in the general populace. The few aberrations are products of terrible upbringings, early head injuries or horrific abuse. These are lies. There are those among us who are simply born evil. No amount of love or nurturing will deter these evil persons from fulfilling their terrifying destinies. They were born evil and will remain so throughout their lives, regardless of what their circumstances may be. They are driven by their desires, their cravings to commit atrocities and the perverse pleasure these acts provide them. Ted Bundy, for example, showed these inclinations at a very young age. No deprecated were committed against him in childhood even though his childhood was far from normal. He displayed none of the precursors to sociopathic development that are generally accepted by the so called expert. No head injuries, no cruelty to animals, no fire starting and no bed wetting past the age of twelve. These are the classic symptoms stated to predict future sociopathy, and Ted displayed none of these. And yet, Ted Bundy became one of the most prolific serial killers of all time. He was bright, attractive, intelligent and charming. Time and time again, he used these attributes to lure young women to their ultimate, horrifying demise. He practiced torture, both physical and psychological and necrophillia. The all American boy was the all encompassing monster. I could sight many other cases, but Ted illustrates my point quite succinctly. Monsters are real. And the FBI estimates that their are 30 to 35 of these monsters operating in our country at any given time. Unsettling numbers, to be sure. Now that we have established our background information, we can move forward with my take. We will do so later. This post sets the time. The next post will begin the story, which may or may not prove...disturbing. Time will tell.
