Lets have a look at the Low on Sunday that will bring various - TopicsExpress

Lets have a look at the Low on Sunday that will bring various precipitation to NB. I say various, because it will be a mix of rain, snow, and everything in between. But we predict that it will not be the large amounts originally feared. This Low is actually a convergence of two systems, one Low originating in Nevada (Las Vegas got snow), the other bringing warm air from the Gulf of Mexico. The result is that when the system reaches us, it will begin as snow, then turn to mixed precip in the form of ice pellets and sleet, then itll turn to rain. As for amounts, only the Fundy Coast and the SE (Moncton) will get as much as 20mm of liquid precip (which could be 10cm snow, 10mm of rain). The North could reach 15cm of snow and 5-10mm of rain. Fredericton, central NB, and Miramichi could be in the 5-10cm of snow followed by 5-10mm of rain. Not a major event, though it will be windy. As will all forcasting several days out, predictions could change if the Lows path changes, check back often for the latest. See the attached maps... ~Tom
