Lets skip from 1966 to 1989. Exactly 25 years ago I went to see this little jewel in a time when superheros were NOT popular, to say the least. Tim Burton proved to be the right man at the right time to portray Batman as Batman should be portrayed. Great ballance between dark gothic fairytale and crimefighting (super)hero comicstrip that created a believable Batman. Its one of the better movies to watch in a theatre.
