Letter sent from Former Lion Head Coach Billy Brewer following his visit for the Hall of Fame weekend at SLU ---------- I want to thank all of the former players, spouses and SLU administrators for a great Hall of Fame weekend. Coach Youngblood and I had a wonderful trip to Hammond. It was long overdue. I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed all of the stories from the past, and visiting with each of you. Southeastern will always hold a special place in my heart. You players are a great example of why we get into coaching. You gave us everything you had each and every day. You played with a great deal of desire and heart. You are not only outstanding football players, but better people. I am proud of each and every one of you. Remember, I told you that success always starts with attitude, work habits, and discipline. These principals served you well on the football field, but most of all in life. You are a special group because of your love for each other. That is very evident with how close you’ve remained over the years. Continue to keep in contact with each other. I love how you tailgate and socialize with your families at the SLU games. Thank you for spending time with us this weekend. God bless you and your families.
