Let’s face it, ONE party is not going to cause you to #gain 10 - TopicsExpress

Let’s face it, ONE party is not going to cause you to #gain 10 lbs. Nor will ONE #Christmas dinner. So stop beating yourself up and expecting the worst. Here are some tips to help you keep the “holiday bulge” away: 1.Plan Your Indulgences – That’s right, I’m not saying NO to eating at your work’s #Christmasparty. Simply plan for the extra calories. Adjust your calories to compensate for the indulgences both the day before and the day after. Note: DO NOT skip meals. #Fasting or starvation will only work against you. 2.Drop the “All or Nothing” attitude! – This is something I work on daily in every area of my life. If I can’t give it my all I want to give up. So you bombed half of the week. Forget it, move on, start over! Now! Not next Monday, #January 1st, next spring! But, NOW! 3. Make room for #Fitness – While your #nutrition is where the #weightloss really begins, fitness is also an important key. #Exercise will make you feel invigorated, strong and ready to take on your #goals. You’re also burning #calories to make up for those #holiday indulgences. 4. Don’t skip meals! - I mentioned this early but it is worth repeating. Make sure to eat frequently, keep a small snack with you. Starvation leads to overeating and just plain feeling yucky. Don’t do it! 5. Narrow your focus – The holidays don’t have to revolve around food. Take time to really be with the people you have. Enjoy the conversations, play games & forget about mindless eating! 6. Celebrate your #victories! - Let the failures go and celebrate your victories. This is a #journey, and you won’t get there #overnight. But each small victory is getting you closer and closer to the finish line!
