Lewis Hamilton claimed a second successive wet-weather pole position - equalling the 46-year-old British F1 pole record in the process - to provide the platform to ignite his 2014 season in the Malaysia GP. In an intensely challenging qualifying session for the field at Sepang which was originally delayed by 50 minutes after a succession of heavy thundery downpours and then twice red flagged once the action did get underway, Hamilton just emerged on top in Q3 from Sebastian Vettel as the World Champion announced his arrival at the front of the field in 2014 after his completely forgettable Melbourne.
