Life in Cameroon With the increase of fuel prizes in Cameroon, everything has just become very expensive and extremely difficult in Cameroon. While trying to analyse the critical situations which Cameroonians are facing at this very hour, I have at some time privately pondered the following questions: 1- How long will these difficult situations last in Cameroon? 2- Will Cameroon know another period of devaluation of the CFA? 3- Has the seemingly increase in salaries of civil servants by 5% solve the problem of the purchasing power of the average Cameroonian? 4- Will the current leadership of Cameroon guarantee social, economic and political safety of the nation in the months ahead? 5- Will President Paul Biya’s regime bring an end to the “Boko Haram” syndrome in Cameroon? 6- Can the opposition party leaders in Cameroon guarantee stability in the process of regime change in Cameroon in the months ahead? 7- Will the youths become more responsible phsychologically to show the sense of patriotism and authentic democratic spirit to assume political leadership in Cameroon in the months ahead? 8- What is the role of religious leaders towards the safeguarding of national sovereignty, peace, truth, accountability, and prosperity and balance democracy in Cameroon? 9- Can an Anglophone Cameroonian become President in Cameroon? Simply asking these questions can ignite a spirit of depression and despair because they expose the deficiencies and defects of the current regime’s strategies to resolving the plight of the common Cameroonian and also cast a somber cloud of doubt about our collective achievements as a people as well as our potential to improve our lot. However, I wish to declare with positive hope and excitement that in my book title: My Vision for a Transformed and Prosperous Cameroon attempts to bring answesr and suggest solutions to the questions and presents ideas that is older than time yet as fresh as tomorrow in addressing the heart cries of Cameroonians in their search for a better leadership in Cameroon.
