Life without school. When I tell people we homeschool, most people dont really know what that means. They think it means we do school at home. But it is so not that. Memoirs of a Childhood explains it beautifully: Our children are free to pursue the things that interest and fascinate them – and something always does....And this sort of just evolves until it doesn’t, then it switches gears into something else. Some projects are short, others span days and involve lots of planning and research. And topic length and depth can be just as varied. What this space and time and freedom allows our children to develop is bigger than the individual topics though. It is the connections between them. It is the skills. It is the creativity, initiative, problem solving, planning, research, patience and commitment that are given so much room to deepen and grow. What does your homeschool look like?
