Lines of Wellington A 2012 film, intended to be part of the commemorations of the 200 years of the French invasions in Portugal. The action is set during the third and last French Napoleonic invasion, on Portuguese territory. Marshal Massena the “Favored Child of Victory” had a harsh experience in this late attempt to subdue the Portuguese. From July 1810 to April de 1811, Marshal Massena saw is 65000 strong Army, reduced to 45000, the French Army had lost 20000 men in a 9 month operation that failed in front of what become to be known as “The Lines of Wellington” or in its original name “As linhas de Torres”.
