Listen and think deeply, if this is relevant to you in any way stop whatever it is you are doing and reflect. See yourself through the third perspective, and try to understand if you are who you are, or if you have allowed yourself to become a mere product of your surroundings, and its desirable influences. Think honestly, and humbly, and you may learn to think for yourself, if you do not do so already. Nowadays the journey to god is as difficult as it is liberating, but once beyond the fog of self-doubt and ambiguity, there you will find peace like you have never known.
