Living by Gods Truth--2 Chronicles 27:6 So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God. NKJV Following the spirit of his father, Jotham did what was right in the sight of the Lord. His undertaking in physical aspects of the kingdom brought his monarchy strength and power. The reason for this attainment, Scripture tells us, is that he established his ways before the Lord. Without wavering, he followed the Lords way. In the face of deep moral corruption among his people, he set his course to act on Gods truth. When our strength increases--and it will--a sure cause is the resolution to base our actions on Gods truth, to pattern our lives according to His will. As in Jothams case, we either know or can easily discern the basics of what God wants us to do. Sometimes, knowing just what the Lord would have us do is not immediately discernible. But His truth for our general behavior is clear and unmistakable. No doubt exists as to the path by which we do things for God that are of first importance; we must see the truth and set our way by it. He who has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. John 14:21 NKJV
