Loan midfielder keen to impress Kenny seemed to get the best out of me as a player and I am really looking forward to working with him and Joe Gallen as well" James Henry New Wolves signing James Henry admits it was a “big decision” to drop down a division and move to Molineux on a three-month loan from Millwall. But it was also not a difficult one for the 24-year-old winger, due to his previous experience under Head Coach Kenny Jackett and the size and potential on show at Wolves. Henry will be at Wolves initially until January 1, although with a view to making it a permanent switch in the New Year. “It was a big decision to make to come here,” he says. “I just felt that this is such a big club that it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. “Everyone at this club is looking upwards and I am sure the club is looking to try and get right back to the Championship and then being a top six team in that division. “That’s what everyone at the club is aiming for and it will be good to play a part in that. “I’m looking forward to being involved with what is a great young squad full of hungry players. “Hopefully I can come in and be an addition to that. “I am happy now that the loan deal is all sorted and I’m really looking forward to a new challenge. “I’ve had good times at Millwall and there are a lot of people there I’d like to thank such as Andy Ambler and the Chairman and all the players and fans. “I really hope they can go on and have a fantastic season and push on in the Championship and prove how good they are. “For me I am looking forward to knuckling down and trying to play a part in keeping Wolves up there and with a chance to get back into the Championship.” Henry, who started his career with Reading, has played his best football so far under Jackett while at Millwall. He is looking forward to renewing their working relationship. “Kenny was obviously a big part of me coming here but it is also the stature of the club which is massive,” he said. “I am really looking forward to playing my football here week-in week-out and doing well for the club and trying to keep us at the top end of the league. “Kenny seemed to get the best out of me as a player and I am really looking forward to working with him and Joe Gallen as well. “I’ve had a look around the place and the facilities are fantastic and the medical staff have been brilliant with me since I’ve been here. “I’m just looking forward to getting to know everyone a bit better and taking it on from there.” Henry, viewed primarily as an out-and-out right winger, has notched 27 goals in almost 200 appearances in senior football. Many of those, as he explains, have come from outside the box! “My favourite position is to play down the right hand side,” he confirms. “The main part of my game is to try and get good crosses into the box and create chances for other players. “And also chipping in with a few goals when I can. “I have scored a few free kicks and shots from distance – I don’t tend to score too many from inside the box unfortunately and it would be nice to contribute a few more.” And Henry would love to start that contribution at Colchester on Saturday, if selected. “I’d love to be involved at Colchester and am certainly available,” he says. “I am fighting fit and ready to go so we’ll just have to see what Saturday brings. “I know quite a few of the lads here and that should help me integrate in. “There seems to be a good spirit here and I’m looking forward to getting involved.”
