Located in Jordan, Petra is an archaeological and historical city that houses rock-cut architecture and water conduit systems. First built around the 6th century BC, it has grown to become a symbol of Jordan. All visitors enter Petra by foot and walk down toward the Siq, a winding sandstone canyon that takes you further into the archaeological site. As visitors walk through the Siq, they will notice various sandstone patterns and carvings. The main attraction at Petra is the elaborate Treasury, which is in a sandstone cliff. You can also visit the Street of Facades, the Roman Theater, the Royal Tombs, and the Monastery, which is the largest carved monument on the Petra tour.
