But the fact of the matter is the territorial integrity of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh versus a settlement of the Indo-Naga issue, which should be read as integrating all Naga inhabited areas under one administrative unit is central to all the elections held in the States of Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, since 2002. The manner in which the Congress and the NPF have been going hammer and tongs against each other, especially in the Outer Parliamentary seat plus the decision of Mr Nephiu Rio to move to National politics are pointers to this fact. The NPF or rather the political parties under Democratic Alliance of Nagaland are under the impression that if the BJP led NDA comes to power at the Centre after the Parliamentary election then the Naga issue would receive a boost, a favourable boost.
