Logo TV today unveiled what it says is its largest programming slate ever, including two new (previously announced) scripted series, a new reality series, two returning series and two specials. It also announced at TCA the launch of a new documentary division that comes on the heels of its successful transgender youth doc Laverne Cox Presents: The T Word, which the network says will be dedicated to profiling LGBT pioneers. Through the new unit, Logo TV will host the television premiere of acclaimed documentary Matt Shepard Is A Friend Of Mine later this year. The film, from filmmaker Michele Josue, debuts in theaters in February. RELATED Logo TV To Premiere Two New Series On Gay Life From Russell T Davies Logo TV has set an April 13 premiere date for its two new scripted series Cucumber and Banana. The interwoven drama series from Russell T Davies (Doctor Who, Queer As Folk) explore 21st century gay life through the lens of two disparate generations. Set for premiere this spring is new reality series Behind The Movies which dissects the filmmaking process to share behind-the-scenes stories that shaped classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sunset Boulevard, and Valley Of The Dolls. Returning series RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 will premiere this spring and Season 2 of Secret Guide To Fabulous from Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ Milojo Productions will debut in the fall. Here are the details on the new slate: SCRIPTED SERIES Cucumber, an original series from show creator Russell T Davies of “Doctor Who” and the seminal LGBT series “Queer as Folk.” Banana, an interconnected series that follows the lives of the younger characters who appear in Cucumber.
