Loksatta Party Communication Mr Anurag Kejriwal, President of Delhi unit of the party was asked to resigntoday with immediate effect. The step was taken as the party took cognizance of a news channel report of a sting operation involving Mr Kejriwal in a discussion to field candidates in Delhi to divide votes and promises that were wholly inappropriate. The party has in parallel also sought raw footage of the video to get further information about this incident and also verify the authenticity of the sting, its full contents and context. The party also reiterated that it has procedures that ensure no one person alone can decide any appointments or nominations, let alone the fate of decision taken by executive office bearers. Speaking on the decision, Mr Surendra Srivastava, National General Secretary said that Loksatta has toiled for 18 (Since 1996) long years resolutely following a principled path and with utmost faith in proper conduct. The party has held itself to a higher standard and cannot allow any indiscretion, whether real or perceived, go unnoticed. He reiterated that all party leaders, volunteers, members and supporters must maintain the highest standard of public and private conduct and never be lured by any short cuts. The path to nation building is a long arduous journey. All members are once again urged to follow the path of principle and conviction.
