Long: Super proud of the Vols. As Vols fans there is a lot to be optimistic about after tonight. I understand it is only one game but those young men played the Maxims tonight and never let up, even when the middle if the game things kind of got stuck in neutral. I agree that Utah was not the most4 formidable opponent but UT laid the wood to them. Vegas lines had us at -3.5 @ kickoff...I think we covered that. They kept a potential dark horse for the Heisman completely in check. (Got tremendous game experience, never let the QB scramble (which has been a HUGE problem in recent years). Secondary covered well. O line held their own and will learn from some mainly mental errors. Very few busted plays on either side of the ball even with Freshman everywhere. Tons of passion, heart, & chemistry from everyone it seemed. I4 know that the Sooners and SEC foes will be faster, stonger, & a better measuring stick...but if you think for a second that Butch and Co. dont have a well coached ball club that is ready and willing to compete in every game you will find out otherwise very soon. I think it has clicked for Worley. Hurd showed flashes but lane looks like he is seeing everything around him in slow motion and making moves. UT left about 21-28 points on the field as it could have been MUCH more of a blowout than it was. The same cannot be said for Utah. They never really had a chance. All 3 phases of the game looked really really good in my opinion considering all the youth. Even Medley the fg kicker redeemed himself after a bad miss. That could have been a momentum changer or the team could have lost heart. Nope the regrouped and poured it on again. Utahs head coach said that he guaranteed that it would be a 4th quarter game...He was right, sort of, the game was over by the 4th quarter. Future is bright folks.
