Long post, but for a very worthy human being. 3 years ago I finally called it quits on finance and Wall Street and went back to education. The new path led me to a huntington learning center in Hartsdale NY. I was gifted with a remarkable team of young women and a supporting cast of true, honest to goodness teachers who could perform miracles with kids of all ages. One of those teachers, the best one...the one who never said no, who always showed early and stayed late and who I know for fact sent more kids to top tier colleges was Connie. An educator for 40 plus years she was just now thinking about the next part of her life with two grandchildren due in months. She simply had the gift to teach anyone and she was a beautiful human being inside and out. Her journey was cut much too short today and as cliche as it sounds she was taken too soon. What will be heard though in the years to come are the voices of those she impacted and saved from futures unknown. Feeling genuine sadness tonight (and missing my NY team) but grateful to have known her. Hug the ones you love people. Life is a curious thing.
