Long story, but Picture it. My crew and I are waiting for our plane. One of my FAs was joking and saying Ive probably never been married cause my arms are bigger than most mens. Lol.... Not true, but they did used to be much more defined. So the OTHER FA wants to see proof, so he says to show her the pic. So I show the FA a pic of my arms and her response was........... Oh my, now see that is just SO ugly. No, I dont like that at all, its just ugly.. With a disgusted look on her face. Me.....wanting to pounce, biting my tongue, did my best to explain to her while in public in a Delta uniform that. 1. I wasnt doing it to be pretty. I was doing it to obtain an athletic look and be healthy......I never had any intention of building a bicep so I could put a pretty pink bow on it and take it out for tea. 2. When she said I have a right to my opinion and I just see ugly, I assured her that 1. Her opinion didnt matter. And 2. Even if it did, I didnt ask for it. And if I had, there are much more eloquent ways of expressing it. THATS what mattered. I told her that ugly is a very ugly word. And what she was calling ugly was my body that I had worked hard for. And that her use of the word ugly in regards to my body did not make her look very pretty at all. 3. Well my daughter teaches dance and she has a beautiful body. I think SHE looks athletic and she doesnt touch weights. Shows me a picture..... Me: Oh my god that poor girl is SCRAWNY!!!!!! She needs some protein! Take her out for a cheeseburger or something when you get home. Her: With a horribly offended look. Excuse me?!?!?!?!?!?. Me: Didnt like that did you? I think I made my point. Sometimes its best to keep your mouth shut when it comes to your opinion whether you have a right to it or not......sometimes its just the right thing to do. The old saying, if you cant say something nice, dont say nothin at all. And UGLY in regards to someone elses body.....is NOT nice.. Meanwhile.....as she was standing with me in the forward galley mid flight a first class passenger walks up and says.... You must work out, huh?. I smiled and said yes.... And he said, Nice arms, ya look good!. Lololol..... I just smiled at her. I WIN!!!!!!!! =)
