Looking for something new to do in Tuscaloosa? How about a dinner theater? Tuscaloosa is in for a treat March 14-16 when the newly formed Heliotrope Arts along with The Prentice Concert Chorale present a dinner theater performance recreating a July 4th Gazebo Concert in fictional 1914 Tuscaloosa. What a fun evening of good food, music, and celebration! Along with great old songs from the early 1900s, there will be rousing Scott Joplin ragtime, early blues and a Dixieland band! No 4th of July celebration would be complete without a cakewalk, a Sousa march and mens and womens barbershop ensembles. The party doesnt stop there; there will be a comedic silent film, and a 50 voice choir belting out tunes like Wont You Come Home, Bill Bailey and When the Saints Go Marching In. And of course, it wont just be music and entertainment; great food will be catered by Ann Gibson and Snap Decision Catering. The menu includes popcorn on table for snack through night. Dinner is hot chicken salad, green beans, cole slaw, and a yeast roll. Dessert (a cake) is provided by each table winning the cake of their choice at a cakewalk.
