But how do our feathered friends express their love and affection out there in the wild? Meet the BOWERBIRDS! These incredible creatures really know how to flirt! The male bowerbirds are especially famous for their elaborate creations. They masterfully build decorative domes of grass and twigs (bowers) and then cover them in jewels to entice visiting females! These jewels are just as spectacular as the rock we expect to see on KKs finger! The males collect beautiful fruits, other feathers, scarab wings, delicate leaves, mushrooms, shells... all in their favourite colours! Some of these guys go mad for blue, some pink, some orange... and some even love litter and busily collect up bottle-caps, straws and anything else lying around! Their tireless efforts all eventually help them win over the lady! But not after some real hard effort to woo her!
