Looks like weve gotten a little boost of about 12 members since last night. Welcome to the Gamers Lounge! Gamer’s Lounge Guidelines We’ve had a few incidents lately that warrant the posting of universal guidelines. This will ensure that people know what we expect here and don’t feel that they have been mistreated if they need to be removed. The Gamer’s Lounge is a place for all gamers to share news, converse, and hangout without the flame wars and trolling found in many other groups. We’ve built a great place and strive to keep it that way. Below are a list of guidelines for The Gamer’s Lounge. Admins exercise the right to warn or ban anyone who breaks Lounge guidelines. These are meant to ensure that we keep the environment that we’ve built up to a set of standards. Thank you to everyone who contributes via threads and comments to make this place awesome. 1. No trolling. While the term “trolling” is subjective I think we can all agree on a common sense approach. Do not post anything to incite petty arguments. We are all gamers here with our own preferences. There is no place for people posting crap to get a rise at the expense of others. This leads to number two… 2. No Flame Wars. If you have a preferred platform for your gaming that’s fine. Just don’t expect everyone else to have the same fanboy opinion. Posting fanboy insults will only lead to ridicule and banishment from the page. Let’s keep it civil so everyone can chat openly and not have to deal with the “Xbox/Playstation/Nintendo/PC is so much better than what you idiots play” crap. Expressing your preferred platform and reasons for it are fine, but there is no need for belittling or insults. 3. Posts should have some relation to games/gaming. There are tons of FB groups dedicated to specific themes. Our group happens to be about games/gaming. TV Shows/ Movies are great but if they aren’t game related then they aren’t really in tune with the group theme. 4. Do not block admins. We can still see your posts and we know if we are blocked. You will be asked to unblock an admin. or be removed if necessary. 5. Do not promote other groups unless you ask the permission of an admin. We don’t mind promoting other pages from time to time so please feel free to ask. The purpose of this rule is to avoid spam. 6. Spam bot policy. If you see a spam bot please inform an admin asap. They will be removed. Spam bots are pretty widespread in FB groups trying to sell shoes, sunglasses, etc. No need for that nonsense here. 7. Outside group arguments. If youre playing online with someone and start arguing DO NOT expect that to reflect any kind of changes here in the group. Just block the other person. These guidelines only cover what happens on the group page. I was hoping to never have to post guidelines but I think we can strike a balance that benefits everyone who is here to hang out.
