Lord, you have called your people to rest in you-- that apart from you and your Word life is restless, empty, and without meaning. Help your children to establish patterns for attending community worship services to share in times of prayer ...with other believers. To hear other peoples perspectives and needs develops understanding and compassion and takes us beyond self-- to a place mercy, forgiveness, and grace the very things we have received ourselves from your death upon the cross. Let your Holy Word guide us and develop our faith so we let go of all false labors and works-- and come into a place of trust in our God who has promised to supply all our needs according to his riches in Christ Jesus-- a loving Father who owns the cattle on a thousand hills who will care for us. Amen Commandment 4 Exodus 20: 8-11 Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stay with you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
