Los Angeles. 1989, Michael and Andrew Michael Wigglesworth Caring Michael and Martin Sheen ~ 10 years old Andrew Wigglesworth meets Michael and Bubbles backstage in Los Angeles in 1989. “He was just awestruck” said Andrew’s mother Phillipa of her son’s meeting with Michael Jackson. Andrew lost his leg due to a tumour. The meeting was arranged by actor Martin Sheen who met Andrew whilst he was filming in November 1988 [Andrew was an extra in the film]. Martin met Andrew and his mother at the airport and took them to the concert where he led Andrew to meet Michael backstage before the concert. During the show Andrew stood in the aisle and was dancing to Michael’s Thriller. As well as meeting Michael, Martin took Andrew to Disneyland where he was mobbed by the Disney characters. When asked what his favourite moment of the day was Andrew said “Everything was good, Everything”. For Sheen, making Andrew’s dream come true, was simply an ‘honour’ Note: Martin Sheen also did the voiceovers to Michael’s Pepsi commercials
