Louise Nevelson is known best for her hulking, monolithic sculptures, which pushed against received taste and challenged what was expected of a female artist in mid-century America. “Louise Nevelson in LA: Tamarind Workshop Lithographs from the 1960s” at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (17 January-17 May) looks at a different but related side of her work, focusing on the years 1963 and 1967 when she came to California to make lithographs with everything from cheesecloths to lace.
