Loved this story... "A group of friends were on holiday in Greece. One of them was a scholar of Classical Greek. They wanted to find out the times that the boats were sailing to an island and the scholar offered to go and ask them, what with his language skills. He duly went over to ask and the friends soon saw the Greeks roaring with laughter. It turned out that what he had said to them was the rough equivalent of saying in English "Prithee good mariners, when does yonder galleon set sail for the isle?""
