Lucky today whilst working on my own house I noticed the floor upstairs had dropped by approximately 50mm. Who ever had installed the composite door previously had removed the original door and not fitted a appropriate lintel meaning 3 structural joists were just rested on loose brickwork the previous owns bed was just above and they were lucky they never fell through. It scares me that people can go around and do this sort of bodge up on unsuspecting public. We have jacked up the affected joists with our acros and will fit a suitable concrete lintel to take the weight.
