MAKERERE STUDENTS TAKE ON SECURITY AS HIGHEST PRIORITY Makerere university students under their guild office are organizing a security week starting 8th to 12th this month as one of the ways to emphasize the need to be security conscious at campus if acts of terrorism are to be strongly fought at Uganda’s greatest institution of learning. Addressing journalists ahead of the climaxing event slated for 12th September, the vice guild president of the university, Abel Lilian and Kasimo Tom the chief security officer at MUK says that they have had a series of terror threats but police has on all occasions come to their rescue. They also add that the police have recruited a number of MUK students who are currently serving the nation.The students now hope that the president and internal affairs minister plus the IGP will grace the ceremony on 12th.
