MANDALAY TOP COP SAYS NO GAY ARREST IN TAUNGPYONE WRITTEN BY ADMIN ON JULY 26, 2013. POSTED IN NEWS, TRAVEL AND LEISURE Mandalay police will not arrest the gay visitors to the festival in the region known as a gathering party for gay people around the country, Popular News reported. Myanmar police recently held a few gay couples dating around landmark moat in the city of Myanmar’s last monarch, saying their behaviors disgusted the city’s dwellers. Gay communities around the country share concerns over the possible arrests, according to the report. Top cop of Mandalay guaranteed that the gay visitors to the festival praising holy spirits. “We want to make clear that we aren’t arresting every gay. We are arresting those who irritated the public members,” Police Major Soe Nyein told Popular News.
