This refers to the Editor’s note “Maratha-Kunbi hate Brahmins but love Brahminism” (DV Feb.1, 2007, P-7). Thoughvery painful to admit, it is a fact that the Kunbi-Maratha leadership is ever ready to please Brahmins. But the Kunbi-Maratha masses are happy over the rise of Dalits particularly the Mahars. They find in the latter a ray of hope to come out of the quagmire of Brahminism. The Maratha political leaders are completely sold out to the Brahmins. But Brother Purushottam Khedekar and his Maratha Seva Sangh is still in infant stage and not in a position to confront the Brahmins. The Khirlangjee massacre was engineered by the manuwadis with the help of the local BJP/Shiv Sena MLA. It was intended to provoke and test the Mahars. But the Mahar youth gave a fitting reply to the machinations of the Brahmins. That the Kunbi-Maratha youth did not fall a prey to the incitement from the Brahmin-controlled MLA using the ONC slogan. This itsef is a very heartening development. Your report has given me a new insight vis-à-vis the term “Brahmin and Brahminism”. We have to perform a double task i.e. to fight the Brahmin as well as Brahminism injected into other castes including the Marath-Kunbi. I attended the “Jijamata birth anniversary” function and the third anniversary of the Shiva Dharma revelation ceremony at Sindakhed Raja, Buldhana dt. On Jan.12. In his speech, Brother Khedekar gave a call “to finish the Brahmin”. No toilet paper reported his speech. But the fact is that Boutmange and his fighter community is Buddhist. He should not quote Mahar word, by ignoring Buddhist conversion. If anyone from us ignorer’s Shiva Dharma conversion of Mr. Sadar, then how would he feel? He must respect Buddhist conversion. VTR though he is theoretically Buddhist, but practically likes Buddhist. He usually quotes Mahar instead of Buddhist in Maharashtra. It appears the same trend Mr. P.S.Sadar follows in his writing. We Buddhists of Maharastra condemn Mr. Sadar for his misquote to us. P.S.Sardar and Khedekar and his Shiv Dharmawalas must read literature of our savior Dr. Ambedkar (If they all treat Dr. Ambedkar as one of the saviors). Buddhist are convincingly hostile to BSO. As such, if really Shiva-Dharmawalas want to be with the Buddhists, they must share sorrows and also participate in their procession against atrocities. But Maratha Marg, of Mr. Khedekar in which Mr. Satpute wrote quite adverse, i.e. Bhoutmange family must be faulty because entire Khairlanjee can never be faulty/culprit. This is indeed shocking, that Mr. P.S.Sadar must take note of it. He must have gone through the opinions of Shiva Dharmawalas. Why didn’t Mr. Khedekar edited or oppose the statement before publishing? Moreover Kedekar and his people were silent while whole Maharashtra was under agitations against Khairlanjee. VTR is absolutely right that “Kunbi-Maratha hate Brahmins but love Brahminism.” I understand Non-shiva dharmawalas were silent, but Shiv-dharmawalas had a duty to show their protest and should have taken active part to prove that they were with Buddhists. So, Mr. Sadar should not find excuse or escape route from this social problem that if they really want to be harmonious with Buddhists (SCs), otherwise they should not advice us (SCs) anything. They have long way to go. Their silence can be well understood, but adverse remark on Bhoutmange family in their periodical Maratha Marg is unpardonable. Khedekar must control their authors who spread hostility. Sometimes I feel, they don’t want harmonious relationship with the Buddhists, rather than Brahmins/UCs. Basically Kunbi-Maratha who are historically/theoretically Shudras, but they treat their-selves as Upper Castes/Kshatriya. They minds always involves high-low caste ego, i.e. He is lower caste than me, and etc. and they always adhered to prove this by various ways as suit to them. 96 Kuli Maratha means high caste (Karkun Maratha) and 93-94 Kuli Maratha are low caste (Pyadi Maratha). So they are involved all the time to prove their superiority on one another. All this structure of 96 or lower than that Kuli is the gift of Brahminism. Brahmin gets smile for this act of Marathas. (Manu/Mugamboo Khush Hua!!). Bitter fact is that Jijabai was belong to Mahar Community. She was daughter of Lakhuji Jadhav from Sindhkhed Raja. Those days whole Jadhav’s houses were belong to Mahar community. Premratna Choukekar bet on the fact. He is going to write a book on this subject. Gail Omvedt (eminent social scientist) has also authenticated the fact by actual visit to this place. Can Khedekar and his company be able to digest the fact? Never, because “History is always one-sided account”. Why Mr. Sadar expect much from Manuwadi media (toilet papers-- in VTR language). Buddhists have 4 media new papers in Mumbai and 1 (Daily – Janman) in Pune. They can give their such news to these 5 dailies, instead of futile barking on Manuwadi media. You see, Babari Mosque was demolished by Saffron Brigade, but entireManuwadi media had hidden the news. So how can Mr. Sadar expect favor from Manuwadi media? Yet, I hope fraternity in middle of Buddhists and Shiva Dharmawalas. The common enemy is Brahminism. Buddhists never, ever act as per Brahminism. That is, they never go to their temple, they never celebrate their festivals and etc. Buddhists have totally come out of the orbit of Brahminism (Hinduism). The same is the crying need of Shiv Dharmawalas. More the %age of hostility to Brahminism more they (Khedekar and co.) shall be out of orbit of Brahminism (Hinduism). By Chakradhar Hadke
