MCCABES 12/12 TIX NOW ON SALE! Brooklyn native Jeffreys, who has long been an important part of New Yorks musical landscape, incorporates elements of reggae, rock, soul and blues into his music. He began playing the Greenwich Village hot spots in the mid-60s, and then became friendly with the Velvet Underground, eventually adding guitar and one composition (Fairweather Friend) to John Cales 1970 solo release Vintage Violence. Jeffreys eponymous debut came out on Atlantic Records in 1973, but it was the nonalbum single, Wild In The Streets, which generated the most attention. That tune, featuring Dr. John on clavinet, went on to become a skateboarder anthem. In 2011, critics raved over The King Of In Between, Jeffreys first stateside release in more than a decade. Now, hes back with Truth Serum — a stripped down, politically charged cri de coeur, chock full of the eclectic and unique genre-bending Jeffreys has long been known for. Dont miss this great artist. store.mccabes/product.php?productid=16686&cat=249&page=3
