MCGI CHARITIES FOUNDATION Reaching out to people and providing assistance to those who are in need is part of the Members Church of God International (MCGI)’s mission alongside worldwide evangelization. Numerous charity and outreach programs were established and more are continuously being mounted to carry out this responsibility and fulfill Galatians 6:10 (As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith).Through the Ang Dating Daan Foundation International or ADD Foundation, MCGI is able to provide various forms of support to orphans, senior citizens, abandoned babies, and less-fortunate people, regardless of their religious affiliation. The scope of the assistance comprises daily essentials like food, clothing, basic hygiene needs, and medicines.Giving of medical, dental, legal, and caregiving services and provisions are also part of the Church’s charitable commitment to society. Likewise, MCGI maintains several residential institutions including orphanages that house hundreds of orphans and senior citizens, and a transient home for a night or day of rest with free food.The charity works of the Church spread to the education sector. MCGI established the La Verdad Christian College in Caloocan City and La Verdad Christian School in Apalit, Pampanga to offer scholarship to poor yet deserving students. Aside from giving free access to college education, free meals, free uniforms, and free books, among other benefits are given to students. iOther assistance given include livelihood programs and financial aid. 1. TEACHING Free Education From the Philippines to Africa, MCGI supports La Verdad Christian College scholars from primary to tertiary levels. Aside from free tuition fee, a scholar enjoys free meals, free books, free school supplies, and free uniforms. The aim of this scholarship grant is to provide free education to deserving students who cannot support their schooling. 2. Mobile School (FREE) The Church-sponsored mobile school program was launched in 2010 to reach remote locations where educational systems are insufficient, and school accessibility is a problem. Mobile Coordinating Center (FREE) With the intent for all to hear God’s lessons and doctrines in the Bible, MCGI launched its Mobile Coordinating Center on November 4, 2012. Equipped with its own satellite dish for receiving live Bible Exposition feeds, the bus transforms into a cozy venue complete with a roof, chairs and a television screen.A brainchild of Bro. Daniel, the mobile center also comes with its own kitchen for preparing food for attendees of Church services in remote areas. 4. HEALING(FREE) Nationwide Clinics Daily medical and dental services are provided to members and non-members alike in partnership with UNTV’s Clinic ni Kuya (Big Brother’s Clinic) and Botika ni Kuya (Big Brother’s Pharmacy) that cover a nationwide scope in the Philippines.Volunteer doctors and medical staff from MCGI provide checkups and assistance to indigents that visit the Clinic ni Kuya daily. Checkups for different medical conditions are scheduled by the day, while a doctor for general medicine is on standby to see patients.MCGI members also hand out free medicines, prescription eyeglasses, and dentures. Ambulance service is also free should a doctor recommend a patient for immediate admission to a hospital or for other emergency cases where it is needed. 5. Medical Missions(FREE) For far-flung or remote provinces that lack medical and dental services, the ADD Foundation schedules medical missions for free via its Mobile Health Clinics.Equipped with medical instruments and even an X-ray machine, the Mobile Clinics travel hundreds of miles to reach towns and municipalities where medical aid is much needed. NURTURING (FREE) Transient Home Inspired by the film Pursuit of Happyness, MCGI Leaders put up a Transient Home along EDSA in the Philippines to accommodate anyone needing a temporary place to stay for the night or day.The Home provides a bed with beddings, food, and clothing for free during a person’s stay. Near the Clinic ni Kuya of UNTV, the Home is ready to take in the latter’s patients coming from provinces or far places.MCGI Leaders also put up a Transient Home in the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga where it mainly takes in Church members who attend its weekly Thanksgiving. Centers for Youth and the Elderly (FREE) These centers are dedicated to senior citizens and youths whose families abandoned them or do not have the capacity to take care of them. Social workers devote their time in helping enrich the lives of the tenants, and ensure their daily needs are met. Food, shelter, medical and dental services with medicines, and other day-to-day necessities are all provided for free. Youths are also given education. 8. Infant Care Center(FREE) News of abandoned babies have proliferated over the years, and the project was initiated to provide care to infants whose parents may have deliberately turned away from their parental responsibilities due to financial, physical or psychological incapacities.Launched on the 32nd anniversary celebration of Ang Dating Daan on November 4, 2012, the first center is located at the ADD Convention Center, Pampanga, Philippines. 9. ASSISTING (FREE) Law Center At UNTV’s Law Center ni Kuya, MCGI members who are practicing attorneys offer their services to anyone needing help with legal matters. The Law Center also offers its services to remote places with Justice on Wheels, a program that aims to take the attorneys closer to indigents’ reach. 10. Livelihood Program (FREE) Munting Pangarap (Small Wish) is a gift-giving project by MCGI leaders to poor members who have small dreams and wishes. Members write a letter to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, usually requesting capital for a small business. The MCGI leaders then grant members’ requests for livelihood aid in cash and/or kind. OTHERS 11. Mass Blood Donation (FREE) Long before MCGI doubled its blood donation record of 5,139 units in 2010, members have been participating in the noble cause of saving lives since the 90s. The Church conducts quarterly mass blood drives and small-scale bloodletting initiatives each year in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross and the Philippine Blood Center. 12. Free Transportation (Libreng Sakay) Free rides from jeepney, bus, and train, to state a few, are provided to commuters. Launched initially for Metro Manila passengers through UNTV, other provinces have already enjoyed the free fare from MCGI-sponsored public transportations. 13. Tree Planting(VOLUNTEERS) In response to global warming and to show environmental solicitude and responsibility, members volunteer to plant seedlings to different locations all over the Philippines. Planters and volunteers tend to these seedlings and monitor their growth.
