MEA Cultural Nite Information & Guidelines ------------------------------------------------------- MEA Board is pleased to announce the following details for the 2014 MEA Cultural Nite: When: Saturday, 20 September 2014, 4.30 PM Where: Durgabari Auditorium, 13944 Schiller Road, Houston, TX 77082 Program & Ticket Info: To follow in a separate evite We invite your active participation and support to make the 2014 MEA Cultural Nite a great success. If you are interested in performing in the cultural program, please submit your entry by sending an email to meahouston@gmail on or before 20 August 2014, including the following details: 1) Name of performer 2) Associated MEA member 3) Performers age (if a child) 4) Contact number & email 5) Brief description of the item you want to perform 6) Name of the song involved (if a song or dance) 7) List all participants (if a group event) Please refer to the Guidelines for Performers provided below: 2014 MEA Cultural Nite - Guidelines for Performers 1.Participants shall be a 2014 MEA member, with membership dues paid as of 15 August 2014 (see exception in item 4 below). 2.Malayalee engineers, otherwise eligible for MEA membership, must be paid members for 2014 for any on stage participation, including group events. 3.Solo performers must be 10 years or older. Children under 10 years can perform in group items only. Only one solo per person, in order to give opportunity to more members. We will only have limited slots for solo items, so please submit your entry as early as possible. 4.Group events must have at least one MEA member as part of the group. In case of duplicate items or time constraints, groups with more MEA members will be given priority. 5.In the case of songs and dances, please provide the name of the song in order to avoid the same item being presented by more than one person. 6.The time allotted for every program will be a maximum of 5 minutes for solo and 7 minutes for group items, to maintain our schedule. 7.The order of the programs will be announced prior to the event and we expect all participants to arrive an hour early to know the order of the events. If a participant or a group misses their given time slot, they will have to wait until the end, in order to have a smooth flow of the overall program. 8.All participants must provide their music track (karaoke) and dance music either in MP3 or WMA format by 06 September 2014 to meahouston@gmail CDs will be prepared with all the tracks for use by the sound system operator at the auditorium to minimize interruptions during the program. 9.MEA Cultural Committee reserves the right to select programming to ensure variety. Selected entries will be separately contacted to register. 10.MEA Board requests all performers to consider a donation towards the 2014 MEA scholarship fund. Regards, 2014 MEA Board meahouston.org
