MEN’S SOCCER: Kevin Naranjo scored a goal late in the second 10-minute overtime to give GPC a 3-2 win over Spartanburg Methodist in Spartanburg, S.C. Evans Ikpeoha assisted Naranjo’s goal in the 109th minute, breaking the 2-2 tie. Goals in the first half: Brayan Rodriguez (13th minute), assist T.J. Carter; Luke Nonyane, (32nd) Rodriguez assist via corner kick. Two GPC own goals (80th and 85th minutes), allowed the overtime. Kyle Johnston made seven saves out of the nine shots on goal allowed by the defense. GPC launched 17 shots at the net. GPC (12-2-2) is eighth in the NJCAA poll and Spartanburg (11-5) is listed as receiving votes. Saturday the Jaguars close the regular season, hosting the Oglethorpe JV’s at Dunwoody Campus. Georgia Perimeter will face Georgia Military College in the Nov. 2 conference semifinals at Darton State College in Albany. The tournament will be video webcast with links at the Jaguar home page.
