MISSION NOT ACCOMPLISHED It was about 3 years ago when armed thieves smashed my door and ransacked my house in the thickness of the night. They stole property worth over E15000.00.For some odd reason on the morning before that fateful day I felt very sick and dizzy such that I couldn’t walk. I missed work and decided to sleep just to recover. At about 5pm I felt much better and decided to visit a friend just to chat. It so happened that I stayed longer than expected as I ended up spending the night at my friend’s house, This was surprisingly less than a kilometer away from my house. It was a first for me to leave my house and sleep at the neighbors. Little did I know that a higher power was protecting me from armed robbers? Yes I knew little then, but the next morning I knew more. I knew even more when 3 months later (after the thieves got caught) the magistrate revealed the trail of blood and dead bodies that they left as a signature on the other victims. That was just a part of my life that shocked me but left me not that much amazed. Three Years later Today on the 17th March 2014 at about 5pm, I went to the kitchen grabbed an innocent kitchen knife. My simplest wish was to cut a watermelon into three pieces that I would enjoy as I replenished myself to start the third phase of my day. I took little care of the rumbling but not raging thunder. I ignored the light rain that fell on the roof. I quickly placed the watermelon on the metal sink and dipped the knife into it. That’s all I ever did voluntarily because what followed next was through reflex action. A bolt of lightning struck right through my left arm. It felt like the normal electric shock that I usually suffered as a curious boy. The difference is that this electric surge seemed to be multiplied by 3 or more times. I know that I screamed with shock and pain. I lost the knife and fell on the floor. Like in all accidents it happened so quickly. I thought it was the end. For the first time I was struck by lightning and I did not die. The conclusion of the whole matter is that we are all created for a certain mission. We all have a purpose that we must fulfill. Thankfully I know my purpose. All I need to say is that no one is useless in this life. The reason why you are still breathing is because your mission is not yet accomplished. We may deny it but there is always a Higher Power. Whether you believe in Ancestors or a Messiah it doesn’t matter. Your existence is purposeful. Nothing is created for no reason at all. Creating a person for no reason at all would be a waste of spiritual resources on the Creator’s part.
