MISSIONARIES FROM AFRICA Last night we were able to have dinner with Mike and Amy, friends of ours who for the last 2 1/2 years have been missionaries over in Burkina Faso, Africa. Almost 4 years ago when Mike and his daughter visited the orphanage in Burkina Faso, he felt called by God to go and help these wonderful people. He came back home and told his wife how he felt and together they began to prepare themselves for this awesome God adventure! They sold their home and all their possessions, followed Gods calling and have never looked back! They never imagined that God would call them - he was a boat builder in Florida and she was a graphic designer - but God can use anyone for His purposes! They told us that people say to them all the time about the huge sacrifices they have made to follow God and how hard it must be. What Mike and Amy say to this is They cant imagine their lives any differently now because they are so blessed every day by serving the men, women, and children in Burkina Faso. Their view of life has completely changed and the things that used to matter most to them pale in comparison to their life now! Mike read us a short letter from a girl in Africa telling of her undeniable love for them, and how they have helped her find The Lord and been like a mother and father to her. I ask you - What could be better than this! Knowing that you are helping to change someones life! Mike and Amy have offered themselves as a living sacrifice for Gods purposes, and they have received so many blessings. Please pray for this wonderful couple and their mission work! Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of Gods mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship
