MR ODINGA IS THE AUTHOR OF HIS DIPLOMATIC PROTOCOL WOES: Since Mr Odinga landed in the USA, the former premier has been complaning every now and then for mistreament by the Kenyan embassy in the USA. But wait, why is Mr. Odinga being mistreated? In the first place whenever Mr. Odinga is travelling abroad he ought to disclose all the necessary information regarding his visits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Then it is upto the Ministry to determine whether his visit is in line with the interests of Kenya. If the Ministry deems the visit congruent to Kenyas interests then it arranges all the necessary protocol arrangements. The reason why the Ministry finds it hard to liase with Odinga is because his visits remain opaque to date. No one knows what he does in the US and the benefits that the country will accrue from his tours in the long run. Off course if Mr. Odinga was transparent the government is magmanimous enough to fix him somewhere in Kenyas diplomatic protocol. Even former president Mr. Mwai Kibaki writes to the Ministry whenever he needs their assistance. This is a country governed by systems.
