MTA BUS SERVICE CENTER New York NY Position: TEMPORARY SUBWAY CAR MECHANICS Job Details ATTENTION: Mechanics with Electrical, Electronic or Electro-Mechanical Experience MTA NYC Transit is looking for TEMPORARY SUBWAY CAR MECHANICS (Car Inspectors and Road Car Inspectors) Salary: Car Inspector (CIs) - $30.2255/hr. Road Car Inspector (RCIs) - $34.1375/hr. Benefits: A comprehensive health plan; night and weekend differentials; Deferred Compensation plan; paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave; and a FREE New York City Transit transportation pass. Car Inspectors repair subway cars, including car body electrical; electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment; truck equipment; body and truck brake rigging; electrical and pneumatic brake equipment; subway car bodies; air conditioning and heating equipment; and electrical and electronic control-and motor equipment. Road Car Inspectors detect and make repairs to multiple-unit subway cars and subway service cars, in passenger service and in terminals Qualification Requirements: Two years of full-time experience as a journey-level mechanic performing troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of large, heavy duty electro-mechanical, electric, or electronic equipment and machinery; and two additional years of experience as an electrical/electronic/electro-mechanical helper, or a degree in electrical/electronic/electro-mechanical technology. Driver License Requirement: (Road Car Inspector only) At the time of appointment, you must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. If you have serious moving violations, a license suspension or an accident record, you may be disqualified.
