MUST READ BOOK #2: There are plenty of books out there that will give you an overview of birth, but in this book by researcher, Henci Goer, it addresses all the common interventions women regularly face (e.g. slow labour, fetal monitoring, episiotomies, VBAC etc), and it shares what the research says, so you can feel confident making informed decisions for your birth. I never knew about this book until I heard about it during my doula training in 2005 - so now I am sharing it with you. While it is an older book, it is brilliant to get you really thinking about your options and choices.
