MY 90s - Layne Staley was the second casualty of the grunge era. - TopicsExpress

MY 90s - Layne Staley was the second casualty of the grunge era. But even as a ghost at the end of his short life, he still managed to haunt us yet again with a little side project that remains one of the 90s most treasured little jewels. Mad Season was a very under the radar supergroup (despite reaching 24th on the Billboard charts) that featured, alongside Alice in Chains Staley, Pearl Jams Mike McCready, the Screaming Trees Barrett Martin and the Walkabouts John Baker Saunders. Wake Up remains one of my youths most arm hair raising songs, creeping across the skin into the heart. Pity this love affair had to go, and now, more than those ten or twenty long years later, listening to this record feels like dreaming of childhood at the last days of our old age. What a beautiful album! Great days, Antero Assane ;)
