MY LATE ANALYSIS OF YESTERDAYS GAME Strengths: - Looking at the possesian stats its clear that we were very good at keeping the game in control. - Moyes rallied the players and there was a lot less mistakes in the second half. - We might have broken the 1 goal curse now. Time to get the goals flowing again. - JANUJAZ! What a boy, what a player. His substitution showed what united are lacking. SPEED. - A win like that will definitely do wonders to inspire our players. Weakness: - Defense. Jones and Smalling are good, but they remain as good Utility players, what we need is a pure defender. Someone who isnt afraid of making tackles, reads the game well, and someone who scares the opposition strikers. Youd Notice jones and evans do not strike fear in the opposition which is why they usually get bullied into making mistakes as we saw in the first half. - Midfield, Cleverley was sloppy in the first half, gave away possession too easily and a lot of his passing was completely off the mark. Carricks play was beautiful. But he needs a more creative and strong partner. - Passing. Our passing from defense to attack was terrible, thats where we lost possesion which lead to both goals and a majority of stokes chances. This is the most important thing to improve before our next games. - SPEED. United are too slow to move from attack to defense. We could overrun stoke if we had more speed in midfield, someone who can hold on to the ball and run with it. - Nani. If theres a word that describes nani perfectly is inconsistant. He put in a very very good game against southamton but against stoke he was sloppy, lost the ball way to easily for a player of his quality. I think Zaha deserves a chance to fight for Nanis spot. Seeing his ability and skill will make the rest of our wingers step up their game. ____________________________________________________ Without a doubt there is a lot to improve for Man Utd. But yesterday we saw something that has been lacking all season, the Manchester United spirit. The players, manager and a majority of the fans never stopped believing. Even when we were 1 down and 2-1 down there was a sense of anticipation from the crowd. They know united are going to score, which translated into the players performance. This is indeed an exciting and interesting time to be a United fan. #M2
