MY LESSON ON THE VALUE OF FRIENDSHIP: Friendship does not have the value in how long you know a person as I only knew my friend Lio Peters a few years. Attending his funeral this past week I saw the true meaning of what an amazing man/friend he was by all the stories shared by many of his long time friends and family. Friendship carried value for him and it didnt matter how long he knew you...he made me felt as if he knew me for a lifetime...telling me stories of his family, his friends who I finally got to meet in person and Guyana politics. Nevertheless he had a tremendous impact on me by the words he shared and even took time to call me more than I did with him. He was more than a friend-sometimes he was like dad and sometimes he was like a big brother. I finally know what it feels like to loose a friend whos friendship I will forever value and now the tears are just pouring. For this lesson I plan to take time out even when days get so hectic and the fight for womens rights take much of my energy that I dont forget the friends who either stood by me, took time to help me on a project or took the time out to call me or cooked me an amazing meal or a favorite dish. These friends are men, women here in the US and Guyana...you know who u are and if you might have thought I took you for granted please forgive me. I was sent this quote this morning by a friend and I wanted to share-Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future so from today I will do my best to value TIME even if it is short message, a quick text, phone call or call you to tell you I am stopping by for your awesome cooking. Thank you, Thank You...to those of u who touched my life this way. Ps.....for those of u who introduced me to your families and they cooked for me too...thank you..cause I plan to steal them from u (Annan Boodram) https://youtube/watch?v=cX6m1xNwmgY
