MY SECRET FOR WEIGHT LOSS!!! Ive managed to lose weight and keep it off by staying consistent with ONE thing: moderation. I dont kill myself for two hours in the gym, I work out for a half hour, most times in my barn using just my body weight or with kettlebells. I eat right but dont kill myself trying to cut out every processed food in the world. I try to stick with whole grains, veggies, fruits, lean meats, eggs, some dairy- BUT I love food- so sometimes you will catch me ordering a cheeseburger & french fries and even sometimes **gasp** I will drink a diet coke or Mountain Dew ! Ahh! I cant promise my cart will be full of only kale and cabbage if you see me at the grocery store but I CAN promise it wont be full of JUNK! I dont LOVE working out- I love the way it makes me feel and love the results it gives me and how strong it makes me in both a physical and mental sense. I dont LOVE healthy recipes with ingredients I cant find in the regular grocery store. I try to keep it as SIMPLE as possible. There are days I dont feel like working out- so I dont. There are days I dont feel like eating right- so I dont. I dont beat myself up over either of these days or view them as slip-ups - they are part for the course on my journey. Why am I telling you all of this??? Because there is this overwhelming notion (I know because I used to believe it) that you have to be ALL or nothing to get fit- you have to eat right 100% of the time and work out for 2 hours a day at the gym. And if you fall off track you should just beat yourself up because you arent cut out for it. You supposedly have to have some ridiculous will power that only like 2% of the population ACTUALLY has, and its all a crock of crap. If I can do it, ANYONE CAN!!! Seriously, I have ZERO willpower when it comes to food. i eat clean for weeks and then i .... eat like crazy!!!! i may or may not have an unhealthy relationship with pizza and cookies. moderation is what has changed my life. Your outcome is a result of what you do MOST of the time, not some of the time. The problem is we want the results right away- so when we are just working out for a half hour 4 times a week and we dont drop 10lbs in that week we get discouraged, give up and forget it all. Consistency is the only thing that gets you results. You can eat perfectly for 2 weeks and work out every day for an hour , but if you dont stick with it after those two weeks nothing will change. Small changes compounded over time = HUGE results. With the new year coming up, I know that so many people will be making the same resolution they made last year, to lose weight and get in shape- if that is you, you need to change your philosophy- change the thinking that you have to go zero to 100 immediately and never mess up, change your need to see instant results- focus on health, on making small changes and staying CONSISTENT with them- trust the process, it WILL happen! The right food in the right amount, high intensity workouts, and accountability is what you need. If you dont have one of those three things((a plan to follow for nutrition, a workout plan, a coach)) shoot me a message and lets talk about a plan to make 2015s resolution your LAST weight loss resolution. SORRY IN ADVANCE FOR SUCH A LONG POST ;) **adding a disclaimer to this after retreading it!!! : I DO eat healthy the majority of the time, and I also do workout, I work hard! I am not saying to just do it when you can or when its convenient or to get a half hour of brisk exercise- you DO have to work hard and make a big effort BUT you dont have to be perfect or in the gym for two hours - just wanted to make sure no one was getting the wrong idea from this
