MY VIEW IN THE MTN SUPER LEAGUE THIS WEEKEND (ZSL WEEK 29) LAST TIME AROUND BWEZANI GOT THREE RESULTS CORRECT WITH ONE PERFECT SCORE LINE!! Saturday, November 15 ZANACO Vs Power Dynamos Sunset Stadium 15:00 Zanaco Vs Power Dynamos, top two Vs Top three positions and the loser in this contest gives up the title chase if Zesco win their game in Mazabuka. Power Dynamos last beat ZANACO in 2012 and in that season, ZANACO emerged champions. After 2012, Zanaco has won twice and drawn twice against Power Dynamos. Before 2012 it was Power Dynamos turn winning all the four previous meeting going up to 2010. The current form shows Zanaco drawing their last four games and that is what has made them be third, their last win was against Indeni 20th September 2014. For Power Dynamos, the loss to Nkana in the lasr fixture was their second of the season and follow Red Arrows as the current form team.. In the last six games played, Power has accumulated 11 points and only Red Arrows have got more (12). Zanaco should be at their best to beat Power Dynamos even when the game is at Sunset. The reverse fixture ended in a draw and this one we shall have a winner and third loss to Power Dynamos. My Verdict: Zanaco 2-1 Power Dynamos ________________________________ Roan United Vs Konkola Mine Police Kafubu Stadium 15:00 Roan are confirmed going to division one and Mine Police still have the chance but they have to rely on other teams. I don’t think Mine Police will survive relegation. Roan United have the last opportunity to give their fans something to remember for the season they are going down and how they would love to finish their home game with a win and am sure they will do it. My Verdict: Roan 1-0 Konkola Mine Police ________________________________ Konkola Blades vs Green Eagles Konkola Stadium 15:00hrs Mathematically both teams are not safe so this will be scramble for points to guarantee that they play Premier League Football next season. Any team which picks three points from this encounter condemns the other into the Relegation battle especially if the teams below them pick maximum points. I think this season is very strange such that with two games to go, a team on the sixth position could be relegated. Once more that’s how the table is seriously complicated at both ends of the table! Eagles are better off on 36 points and Blades a point behind. Green Eagles have impressed me so much this season and to me they have achieved their objective for the season as they will survive. Blades who started the season so well have a bit disappointed but they will be relieved if they are not fighting relegation especially with a win in this encounter. From 2008, Blades have beaten Eagles three times with Eagles winning two. I think this will be for Blades. In the reverse fixture the teams played to a 0-0 draw. My Verdict: Konkola Blades 1-0 Green Eagles ____________________________________ Indeni vs Nchanga Rangers Indeni Training Complex 15:00hrs Indeni still has a chance of surviving if they pick maximum points in the remaining games and hoping other results go their way. Their maximum is now 33, what a mammoth task they have to work on. They face Nchanga Rangers this weekend who need a point to be safe and any points Nchanga Rangers picks in the last two games is survival. Nchanga cannot finish above sixth position and their competition for that position is now Green Eagles, National Assembly and Konkola Blades. That’s the only incentive Nchanga have in this encounter as that of Indeni is a cup game were three points will mean a lot. If Indeni picks three points and Konkola Mine Police lose then they can only get to 14th. The known League games that I know about these sides are three and they have all ended up in 2-1 result. Nchanga Rangers won two in 2012 and this season, Indeni won the other . I just think this will be a first draw for these teams. My Verdict: Indeni 1-1 Nchanga Rangers _________________________________ Nkana Vs Red Arrows Nkana Stadium 15:00hrs In the last two games played against these two sides Nkana has scored 7 goals and Red Arrows 1. 3-0 in the reverse fixture and 4-1 in the winning game season last year. That on its own speaks volume. But this is Nkana of 2014 we are looking at, impress this week and run out of ideas the following week. That’s what we can define the defending champions. They really have dropped unnecessary points at home and there should be something wrong with Nkana at home in the League this season. Red Arrows need this more than Nkana but I seriously doubt if Red Arrows can get maximum points because you just don’t know where the goals will come from in the Red Arrows team anymore. Red Arrows are the form team in the Super League as we speak, picking 12 points in the last six and Nkana are further down on form team picking only 8 points in the last six. If Red Arrows lose this one and other results go against them specifically games involving GBFC, Kabwe Warriors and Nakambala then they will play division one football next season. But I think points will be shared here. My Verdict: Nkana 0-0 Red Arrows __________________________________ Napsa vs National Assembly Woodlands Stadium 15:00hrs Napsa are safe, National Assembly are a win away from safety hence they need this more than Napsa but points are not given for free, you need to fight for them and that’s what National Assembly should do in this encounter. National Assembly is one team that would leave its fan gutted if they were to be relegated after a good showing throughout the season. Its confirmed the lowest Napsa could fall is fifth this season and no team below them can now manage the points that Napsa have! Safety indeed. As at game 28, NAPSA remains the best defensive team in the season having allowed 19 goals only, followed by ZESCO and Power Dynamos who have let in 22 each. Remember the worst is Indeni and Roan who have let in 41 each. But this is about National Assembly making sure they put relegation fears behind them with a win but such games come with a lot of panic and Napsa will be tough. My Verdict: Napsa 1-1 National Assembly ___________________________________ Sunday, November 16 Kabwe Warriors vs Green Buffaloes Sunset Stadium 15:00hrs This is the battle for relegation and the most difficult game of the weekend if you were to ask me, it will be highly contested and the winner may just survive relegation. The loser may have seriously matters to sort out on the last day. A win for GBFC sees them leapfrog Kabwe Warriors who are on 33 and it may be worse for a Warriors loss if Red Arrows is also to pick maximum points against Nkana. But a win for Kabwe Warriors to me guarantees safety for the troubled Kabwe Warriors who are playing their home games in Lusaka. If Kabwe Warriors is demoted, they will look at the punishment that FAZ slapped at them and in such instances; they will blame FAZ for the rest of their lives! Just for that and only that I think will motivate them to fight on and survive! Kabwe Warriors will survive. The Reverse fixture between these two ended in a 1-1 verdict and before that in their last seven fixtures, there are two 0-0 draws and one win for Kabwe Warriors. In the same period, GBFC has beaten Kabwe Warriors four times. But it seems as the season comes to a close, Kabwe Warriors is becoming a draw specialist team. GBFC is coming up stronger as we come to the end of the season. The last time Kabwe Warriors won a match was on 14th September against Nakamabala Leopards and draws have followed henceforth. My Verdict: Kabwe Warriors 1-1 Green Buffaloes ____________________________________ Nakambala vs Zesco Nakambala Stadium 15:00hrs This one is a title decider Nakamabala Leopards have a huge task to get anything out of this match. In the last eight games played between these sides, Nakambala has not beaten ZESCO, the best they have from 2007 are two draws, one in 2009 and the other in 2011. ZESCO has scored 19 goals against Nakambala in the last 8 games and Nakambala has only managed 2. Nakambala has 8 points from possible 18 in the last six games. This will be another win for ZESCO and as I have been saying from week 13 in the MTN Super League, this is Zesco’s to lose and should they win here, and then expect them to get the Title come Week 30!! That’s not good news for Nakambala, the win of ZESCO may just drag them in the relegation battle and be endangered to play division one football again after being resilient throughout the season. Not good news for the sugar boys. My Verdict: Nakambala 1-2 Zesco _______________________________
